Play equipment from the yellow bag

Spielgeräte aus dem Gelben Sack

In 1950, just under 1.5 million tons of plastic were produced annually; today, that number is nearly 400 million tons. Whether in toys or cosmetics, smartphones or cars, plastics can be found in almost all areas of our daily lives. The majority of them are disposable products and packaging. After just a short use, they end up in the trash. Almost half of plastic products are waste after less than a month. In Germany, approximately 60% of these are recycled.

Our "Play Equipment from the Yellow Bag" recycling program comes in right here: Old chip bags and cheese wrappers, cream tubs, pasta packaging, and much more are processed into recycled plastic, which is used to create the components for our play equipment. Our cooperation partner removes all foreign matter from the pre-sorted used plastic, cleans it, and presses it into bales. They then process these bales into pellets using special processes and deliver them to espas. We melt the pellets at our site in Kassel and inject them into the required molds for our play equipment components.

Sustainable and economical
Play equipment from the yellow bag is not only sustainable but also very economical, as it has a virtually unlimited lifespan and requires little maintenance. In contrast, wooden play equipment is far more expensive to maintain, as wood weathers over time. It needs to be sanded and varnished or painted from time to time. Even though wooden play equipment looks beautiful, especially when new, it always poses dangers such as wood splinters for children and requires far more care and maintenance than play equipment made from recycled plastic.

Recycling can be grey and colourful
To symbolize the sustainability of our yellow bag playground equipment, our "Natural Line" is available in gray with muted colors. The gray hue is created automatically when the packaging mix from the yellow bag is processed. However, if color batches are added during the recycling process, the recycled plastic is no longer gray, but has exactly the desired color. So, if you prefer a bright and colorful playground, simply choose the usual colorful version.

We believe that playground equipment from the yellow bag is a wonderful way to breathe new life into old plastic waste and thus contribute to ensuring that the world remains green and full of vitality for our children tomorrow.
